Lesh farm purchase to restore Elkhart County Fair
Elkhart County plans a reorganized agricultural society after purchasing the Lesh farm of about 48 acres near the old fairgrounds. Stockholders have subscribed 12 000 dollars toward a 15 000 dollar capital stock and officers and articles of incorporation will be set later. The effort recalls the county’s first fair in 1851 and its long history before the 1890s setbacks.
