Buggy Hit By Sheriff Sanford Ford in Elkhart
A buggy carrying Mrs. E. G. Stauffer and her daughter-in-law was struck by Sheriff Sanford’s Ford near Elkhart yesterday at 5 pm. Mrs. Stauffer suffered internal injuries and bruises. she remains at her sister’s home with an attending physician saying she cannot be moved for two to three days. The driver was not blamed. the horse bolted after the collision.

Pvt. John HL Weaver 22 son of Mr and Mrs Benjamin Weaver of Nappa nee died in France November 3 from pneumonia. He enlisted October 6 1917 at Goshen and served in Camp Taylor Louisville Ky Medical Replacement Unit No 32 and Sanitary Troops No 22 before joining the 88th Division 352 Inf Medical detachment. Surviving are his parents three sisters three brothers. Elder brother Floyd in U S service at Camp Devens.

The Great Lakes naval training station band of 1700 pieces will be disbanded on orders from the bureau of navigation. Lieut. Guy Tedrow formerly of Nappanee died at Blue Earth Minnesota. The body was sent to Nappanee for burial.
