Washington announces a universal 6 cent per ounce rate for daily airplane mail replacing the current 16 cent first ounce and 6 cent each additional on the New York Washington route. The rate will apply when daily New York Chicago service begins December 15 and on the Washington Chicago route via Indianapolis.
Sick list reports Mrs. George Hildebridle of Niles ill with yellow jaundice and gall stones. Tom H. Keene, managing editor of the Elkhart Truth, has been very ill with influenza. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Heber Blough of Grand Rapids, former Goxyhenu residents.

Doctor W A Stall of Elkhart wins the Elk Hart seat as a Republican succeeding A S Hol Ungsworth of Goshen the Democrat. Fanitor Isaac Spahr of Goshen a Democrat to succeed himself. No attorney appointment. T M Ruse of Bristol Republican is ineligible as trustee of Washington township. Binil Franz of Middlebury the Democrat is the present attorney. Appointees named today serve one year terms with longer terms for some places customary.
Judge Walter A. Funk in the St Joseph circuit court at South Bend denied Albert R Briese a temporary injunction to stop the city from removing fixtures from his former saloon. He overruled the city's cross complaint seeking to enjoin Briese from public nuisance by continuing his high present place of business.
An 18 year old named Gordon travels through Michigan Texas and New York seeking his father who left him ten years ago with a Kerramizoo family. He recalls his father as a former New York Central engineer who later tuned organs after retirement. A relative called Uncle Orn lived in Elkhart and worked at an ice plant as Gordon logs missing relatives while asking police for aid.

Her son was buried at Plymouth as her husband serves with the American Army in Prince.
Jock Wiigard of Kimmell is hospitalized in Elkuart General with serious injuries after a dead sapling fell on him while he felled a tree in a nearby woods. Several ribs and a collarbone are broken.
Company G of the 354th Infantry 89th Division U S Army Ay-who who died in action in France on Nov 6 at age 24. Born in Jerome Michigan Aug 1894 he moved to Goshen with his parents eight years earlier. He studied at Goshen High School class of 1912 and planned to graduate from the American School of Osteopathy Kirksville Missouri. He was drafted after military training at Camp Funston Fort Riley Kansas and served overseas from June with a month in England before entering the trenches from the start of Italy fighting until his death.
Goshen county commissioners awarded next quarter contracts for the poor farm. Alough Bros. & Mebl won cooking stove at $75. All-Metal Weather Strip Co. of South Bend secured weather stripping for $347.04. Don L. Rinehart paid $20.50 for a Ford auto salvaged after a fatal crossing incident months ago. Nat C. Goodwin the actor underwent surgery in New York to remove one eye after damage from a mistaken ingredient in an eye wash. Doctors said the injury resulted from mixing the wrong substance during care.
Mary Kovacs a three year old of South Bend dies when her 11 year old brother fires a discharged revolver they were playing with. The tragedy claims Ladislaus Kovacs as the killer’s name appears in the account.
