Man Killed in Elkhart N Y Central Railway Shops
William J. Herbst, 47, boiler-maker at the New York Central shops in Elkhart, was killed this morning when a sleeve became entangled in an air motor shaft, body battered as the machine whirled him. He died shortly after being found by gang boss H. J. Fergison. Herbst had worked in Elkhart for over a year, came from Fort Wayne last July, survived by his wife and eight children.
