Two burglaries occurred in the early morning hours. Bradley Dively's 511 North Second street home was ransacked while Mrs. Dively was briefly alone, with a gold watch, gold ring, and cash stolen. Sherwin's 620 South Seventh street residence lost two handbags containing money. A bakery worker deterred two men on the roof of Shoup and Kohler by waking and frightening them away. Local police were alerted.

Affray at Auburn Ends in Fatal Shooting
Last Saturday near Auburn Fred Kukuck shot and killed Anthony Zonker during an affray at the Zonker home.
