Marfa Tex Aug 25 Major James T Yancy says reports that bandit leader Jesse Renteria was shot by an American airplane last Tuesday appear authentic. About 375 soldiers are back on U S soil resuming border patrol after a four day bandit chase with several casualties and prisoners.
Joseph Wendling, the man who killed Alma Kellnes a decade ago, was captured on Frankfort streets after resisting arrest. He had fled a state reformatory and was found by police while en route to Louisville, armed with a knife and pistol, and subdued with a club.
William B. Routsong files a partition suit in Go shen against Clara B. Routsong with Elkhart Co. Trust Co. named as co defendant due to mortgage. He asks the court declare ownership and order sale since the property cannot be divided justly. Attorney L I Burris represents the plaintiff.

Peter Petas, 64, of Chicago, a Greek immigrant who came to the United States two years ago, died in a Chicago hospital from pneumonia after surgery and radium treatment for tongue cancer. His death was sudden. He was the father of Mrs. Samuel Hus mas of Goshen and had often visited his daughter here. Funeral services were held in Chicago and interment followed there.
The wife of Rev. Miller injured Friday night when his car was struck by an automobile driven by S. P. Shaft of Elkhart is recovering well at Goshen Hospital. Shaft visited Saturday night offering to reimburse damages to the Miller car.

Fort Wayne detectives and county deputies arrested five men and four women charging them in a wide stolen car ring with headquarters in Toledo and Fort Wayne. Auto crashes Sunday near South Bend injured several people and wrecked two cars on Berrien Center road four miles north of Niles at seven pm. Victims include Robert Hitchcock who was unconscious but not seriously hurt and Mrs J R Megan now at St Josephs hospital with minor injuries. Anthony E Luckey and friends were in a second car. Justice of the Peace Joseph Wypiszynski was injured avoiding a horse and buggy as the car overturned partly though no one was seriously hurt.

A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Lee Hemrick of Fort Wayne and to Mrs Irma Essig formerly of Goshen. Mr and Mrs Arthur Ganger of 202 North Second Street welcomed Ruth Chrisabelle. A son was born this morning to Mr and Mrs Morris H Herring of 708 South Eleventh Street.
Reports from Toronto indicate an aeroplane race takeoff from Toronto to New York ended with a mishap but no injuries. Pilot Roland Rolfe and other competitors were involved as the aircraft were recalled after the incident.
