William J. Slack of LaGrange was held to the federal court by U S Commissioner Harper for using canceled postage stamps. Bond set at 400 with recognizance. Present were Post Office Inspectors Burr and Foster District Attorney Follette and LaGrange postmaster P Dryer and son W L Dryer. Fishermen Fail To Land Bass On Elkhart River Trip
Fred Fredike Edward Kurtz and Herman Roebrugh went to Benton yesterday morning to fish the Elkhart river to the dam south of the city. They did not land a bass and were forced to fish near the dam for a few bluegills to take home. They faced many logs and fences that blocked the stream making the trip difficult.

Funeral Services Sunday for Indiana Railway Conductor
The c onductor Frank Stuart of the Indiana Railway Company was killed in South Bend while coupling a trailer to a motor car. His remains were brought to his home in the city and will be laid to rest Sunday at the First Christian church. Interment follows at Violette cemetery beside his mother and two brothers. The railway company paid funeral expenses, and a $50 subscription fund was raised for his widow.
