Delon Imus aged 55 a veterinarian in the Bremen area was beaten by a gang of thugs last Thursday night near Bremen. He lies in a precarious condition at home after the attack and robbery, with three assailants detained and several more watched by authorities.
Three hundred boosters gathered in Warsaw court room to form a county organization for the Hoosier Dixie Highway and Lincoln Highway. Delegations from nearly every township attended, with Pierceton and Larwill sending seventeen machines each. W D Flavor opened the meeting and a two-per-township bylaws committee was named. J B Dodge of Marion spoke on good roads.
Oren Ragsdale of Indianapolis swam from Oakwood Park to Buttermilk Point at Lake Wawasee covering seven to nine miles in two hours and forty one minutes. His brother accompanied him in a boat during the crossing.
Norris Shaum arrested yesterday for selling liquor to minors, tried before Mayor Spohn this afternoon. He was fined $20 plus $10 costs, total $30, and jailed to board out the amount when unable to pay.

Angola Aug 7 Special Police arrested Joe Madden and a man named Reek in connection with an auto theft gang active in Cleveland Truroit and Toledo. They are held for investigation with Cleveland authorities expected to provide further charges. The pair allegedly received stolen Fords in the area, repainted them and passed them to other gang members for sale. Cars reportedly came from Ohio and Michigan and circulated through northern Indiana with prices from 25 to 40 dollars.
The Internationais Company, based in Indianapolis, filed a voluntary bankruptcy petition in federal court late yesterday. Signed by Sibert Wo Wert as tester, the filing states the company is insolvent with liabilities around Soo. STE and assets listed as SLTYOTTT.
Wantington Maine brakeman Rick Barkmall earns hero status by singlehandedly detaining three alleged robbers as his train departed North Judson. He forced them onto the car, escorted them to the caboose, and had Hunting ton police arrest them upon arrival around midnight.

Volpert Fink a longtime Goshen retail meat dealer since 1860s, aged 67, died at 110 North Sixth Street after a prolonged illness. Born in Germany August 4, 1838, he came to America at 17, lived in Harrisburg and Michigan City before settling in Goshen, where he built a broad local and county reputation. Survived by three daughters Mayme Fink, Mrs Cook, and Mrs Fink, and three sons George, William, and Harry with several grandchildren. three sons preceded him in death. Funeral services will be announced Monday.
Mortuary record states Clarence Fore died at his Jamestown area home at age 30 due to diabetes. Survived by wife and four children. Funeral planned Monday at the home at 1 o'clock.
Clarence K. Hartzell formerly employed by the Democrat now joins the circulation department of the News Times and Telegram in Reading Pennsylvania. Hartzell resides in Souderton, Pa.
Henry Guthermuth operator of a South Main street saloon in Elkhart was arrested on a charge of selling liquor after hours. He allegedly served patrons after 11 p m and his trial is set in Elkhart city court Tuesday.

An interurban car bound for Goshen was derailed last evening while turning at the corner of Lincoln avenue and Main street. No injuries were reported and crews surveyed the damaged track and car.
Peter Kinsley aged 65 drowned when his boat overturned during a fishing trip on Muffinan Lake near Atwood at 7 15 last night. William Russell was rescued. Kinsley’s body recovered and heart trouble listed as cause. He leaves a widow two sons Albert and Joseph, four sisters and brothers. Funeral Monday.

Elmer Good faced trial in the mayor's court after city ordinance 149 violation. Ray Deahl requested a venue change, Lou W. George Coggan formerly of Goshen now travels with a tourist party in Skagway Alaska. In July the group reached the Denver glacier near Skagway. Coggan, a skilled photographer, joined to capture views for his portfolio.
