Unknown man killed by auto on Lincoln Highway west of Elkhart
An unknown white man about 40 was struck and killed by a touring car on the Lincoln Highway three miles west of Elkhart Sunday at 11 pm. He was with two African American men, Rebey Jones and Jess Robin of Indiana Harbor, who escaped. The car fled. license not obtained. Coroner Eugene Holdeman said the man suffered fatal chest and leg injuries. The body was taken to Charles Valley funeral home.
