Vienna August 2 Bela Kun the Hungarian communist dictator resigns and is replaced by a socialist government. A Soviet socialist meeting in Budapest prompts Kun to state he must resign after front reports stir consternation and pressure from the allied peace overtures.
A Budapest dispatch reports a purely socialistic Hungarian government under Herr Peidell forming to restore order and seek entente association. Vienna indicates overtures for peace with the Allies by Hungary’s new socialist regime, while Bela Kun resigns his dictatorship and is likely to be confined.

A 35 ton straw stack on Frank Harrington’s farm west of Niles on the Buchanan road burned during an electrical storm. The Buchanan chemical truck rushed to the scene and checked the blaze which threatened the barn and other buildings.
