Deputy Sheriff Irving Seizes Chronicle Office in Gun Incident
Deputy George Irving burst into the Chronicle editor’s office last Sunday noon, drew a six gun, and demanded information on a beer case. Chief Moran restrained him, Justice Rosenberg and Judge Rosenberg clashed over coverage, and Irving was eventually taken away by police. The next day he tried to threaten the judge. Sheriff Madison discharged him and a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon followed, with bond set by G. D. Lovell and M. D. Sarver.
