Callender Hotel Sold to R N Cooper in City Deal
R N Cooper of Hazen has bought the Callender hotel, taking possession under a two year lease to Mr Wallace who retains the building. Cooper will be assisted by his cousin Mrs Vincent in management. Sheriff Smith arrested a transient for forgery, recovering 12 dollars after the suspect cashed a check at Hoffman’s Confectionery. The PEO Sisterhood plans a rummage sale November 9 and 10 on Main Street. Lakota Sunday schools run a membership contest led by Aneta.

Vince Wicka acquires the W Bar Ranch ten miles north of Wibaux for about $10,000 through C J Waldron. The 964 1 2 acre Beaver Creek property, first owned by Pierre Wichaux, features solid buildings, fencing, and woodland. Wicka plans grazing use, seeks wood, and aims to provide his family with ranch life and running water. He moved to Golden Valley County in 1905 and built up a prosperous Model farm four miles south of Beach, reflecting his progressive farming.

Short Course Opens After Thanksgiving
The annual Short Course at the school will run after Thanksgiving with English, arithmetic, spelling, penmanship, bookkeeping, agriculture, manual training and domestic science. Credits count toward graduation and new material replaces older content. All students who cannot attend regular classes are urged to enroll, with the date to be announced. Farmers Extension Lectures Are Successful
Hugo Klumb with A B Hummel and R M Lewis presented extension talks at Little Beaver and Haysman schools last Friday and Saturday using about one hundred lantern slides. Klumb covered horticulture with practical fruit tree planting, care, diseases, and spraying. Lewis spoke on farm bookkeeping. future talks planned at Burkey and Indian Hint schools. Local writer urges voters to approve the new Normal School at Dickinson for local education access.
