The Mandan to Miles City south line will likely reach New England this year and join the Miles City route at Mott with work already let to Porter Bros Welch of Spokane. North and south routes are expected to be completed by fall 1910, with Mandan Glendive line contracted to Simms & Co of St. Paul and bids sought from several national contractors.

Rural Route In Operation At Beach
Beach unveils its first rural mail route with three applicants passing exam. B H Moulton served temporarily, then Chas Kidder was appointed as the regular carrier. Residents prepare mail boxes. about 112 households on route. Community advocates additional routes west and south toward Carlyle.
Beach leads other towns in April freight activity
In April Beach handled 20 cars of emigrant goods and 27 cars of lumber at its three yards. Total freight reached 1 835 tons, with local office receipts over 17 000 dollars. Eleven cars of grain were shipped, totaling 350 tons of freight. Beach stands out for its high business volume along the line.

Mill interest grows as Wells and Helm eye Beach site
E P Wells and H T Helm of Russell Miller Milling Co visited Beach after a Billings trip to assess a potential new mill. They noted large production needs and a 600 000 bushel minimum, but gave no firm plans. Wells Beset for Local Landowners Near Barber Plot

East Road to Beach Fixes Begun by Local Subscription
The east road to Beach via the railroad corridor between sections 25 and 30 is being repaired for heavy loads. J J Bartley and the Chronicle editor spoke with business leaders, and a subscription run by F F Near and E E Noble secured funds.
