Beach Village Elects Dr Francis by One Vote in Quiet Town Ballot
Beach residents held township and village elections at the fire hall with two tickets contesting. Dr Francis was elected village trustee by one vote and naming R I Nichols Ed Hoverison E E Dickinson George McClellan J W Brinton A H Lytle Wm Bond G F Francis won as justice and other officers were chosen by clear majorities. The township ticket elected without opposition lists J D Halstead Henry Feldhusen C M Olson E E Mikkelson A O Keefe E L Holven F Powers and R J Corliss as constables.

International makes first gasoline traction engine in Beach
The Beach Implement Co received a new International gasoline traction engine, the first of its kind in the area. It arrived before midweek and impressed by its mobility as it moved around town, showing it can travel as well as pull heavy loads, and it is suitable for threshing plowing or hauling.

Explosion injures worker while blasting in well near Alpha
Last Saturday near Alpha a dynamite blast in a deep well injured Arthur Johnston and Ed Edey. Johnston, pulled to the top after the second charge fired unexpectedly, suffered a gaping ankle wound, facial cuts, and mud and sand injuries. He was cared for by Dr. Museus and moved to Beach for treatment.

Beach Plans Auto Livery as New Spring Enterprise
A. M. Peterson of Harvey has bought the southwest two corner lots in block four and will build a 24 by 40 structure. He ordered three autos to start an auto repair shop and livery service. Peterson also owns land near Beach to be put into cultivation this year. Beach lodge No. 20 meets March 24 at the hall with full attendance urged.
