General Manager J M Rappelje says northwest grain stands and prosperity are extraordinary after visiting Montana and North Dakota. He expects no car shortage as shipments ramp up and notes plans to finish the Beach extension to Burkey within 60 to 90 days to handle the coming harvest.

Beach Elks Parade and Immense Independence Day Celebration

A large crowd in Dickinson joined Beach Elks for an all day Independence Day event. The Beach band led the parade, Mayor Brinton rode among the civic groups, and a 6 to 1 baseball win followed in the afternoon. The day featured races, prizes, and evening dances, with 7,000 locals in attendance and no incidents.

Base Ball Dance Next Week At Local Hall

A booster baseball dance is planned to keep the local team intact with an extra pitcher added to the hurlers. Star performer Jim Power will arrange lighting and musical features. Geo Purvis and Miss Abbie Carlson may sing while Misses Kucheman and Olson play piano. Manager Smith of the opera house will coordinate the light effects for the party.

Mrs. George Irving and Mrs. Gilbert joined the Elks homecoming celebration in Dickinson this week, among the attendees and local participants at the event.

The Arrival of Kitty at the opera house on Monday

The United Brethren church presents The Arrival of Kitty at the opera house Monday July 12. The play, popular in New York, features local actors with musical interludes including a mixed quartet and Beach band. The program lists Grace McVay as reader and notes a local birth and a visit by Chas Hoyt, state agent for Columbia Fire and Hail Insurance Co., who adjusted hail losses nearby.

Construction in Full Swing on New South Line

The Northern Pacific has a full crew laying ties and grading for the new south line to be completed by October first. Ties are in local yards and a new siding parallel to the main line will be added. A track laying machine is in the section and steel cars are ready at Sentinel Butte for use.

New Enterprise to Open in the City

F. W. Werner departs for Minneapolis and St. Louis to buy harness and shoe machinery for a new city enterprise to start in a few weeks. Location undecided. Werner’s experience suggests probable profitability.

Catholic Church organized at Killdeer parish

Bishop Wehrle of Bismarck led a Sunday visit to Killdeer where after mass a church organization was formed naming St. Joseph's parish. It includes 37 families with plans to build this season. Trustees M S Caskelly and J F Whetstone will lead. a resident priest will be assigned to serve two or three towns along the railroad.

Beach Defeats Belfield In Big 8 to 1 Victory

The Beach team traveled to Belfield and won 8 to 1 in a well played game. Phillip Paulson starred, allowing Belfield only one hit in nine innings. This win, following yesterday’s victory over Dickinson, puts Beach in the running for the sectional state championship.

Local travels and planned elevator project noted

Adolph Attletweed left today for Seattle Washington to spend the greater part of his vacation. President J M Still of the Farmers Cooperative Co of this city says that if an elevator is built at Golva it will be new and up to date in every detail.
