Woman narrowly escapes fire after stove blaze
New England North Dakota February 18. John Parent's house in the Desart neighborhood was destroyed with all contents when an overheated stove sparked a blaze. Mrs Parent, venturing to the cellar for vegetables, returned to find flames everywhere and fled outside. Her hair was badly singed as she escaped.

A rancher found a frozen body of Mrs Acelia Brooks on a road near Oakdale after tracing three letters and a pocketbook. The letters dated January 24 suggest she was on the road for about ten days. She had moved from Minneapolis to file on a claim near Oakdale and was en route to the James Fen ton place to mail letters when lost.
Husband aids wife in kerosene fire accident
Devils Lake ND February 19. Mrs August Kairhoff attempted to hasten a blaze with kerosene and was burned almost beyond recognition. Her husband, rushing to help, was badly burned on face and hands but will recover. The home sustained no damage. physicians say the woman’s life is in doubt for a few hours.

Beach To Have Farmers Institute
Farmers of the Golden Valley and vicinity are informed that a farmer's institute will be held in Beach from March 10 to 14. Local educators Prof. Geo Haley and Miss Flemmington will participate, with Prof. G W Ranchett of the Agricultural college and Pref. J H Worst aiding. Supt Nelson of the City Schools organized the program and will publish a complete schedule soon. The event aims to elevate Beach schools and educational standards.
