Harley Wallace was seriously injured when a shotgun carried in his buggy exploded after a rough ride near Beach. The blast damaged muscles below the knee, but doctors say he will not lose the limb's use though he will miss weeks of school. Dr S A Danford will preach Sunday evening August 29 and lead the last quarterly conference for the year. He has twelve years as district superintendent on Fargo and Bismarck districts and helped build churches and parsonages, shaping the Holiness movement in North Dakota centered at Beulah camp. The Beulah camp gathered 1000 to 1500 annually and raised substantial funds for missions and church work, marking a record year this past June. He is revered across Methodism for his enduring devotion and leadership.

Bryan argued Roosevelt erred in urging deeds and warned that war with Germany is unnecessary, urging Americans to avoid British ships and leave defense plans to Wilson. He spoke at the National Fraternal Congress and avoided county option questions.
