The Masons held a meeting at the lodge hall and a reception by the Eastern Star at the State Jing hotel followed with music and supper. A petition seeks a special election to bond the district for 5000 dollars to fund a new school building. Citizens weigh options including independent districts, bonds of 10000 to 15000 dollars, and tuition for outsiders, with strong sentiment toward a larger, durable town school and potential re districting. A separate note mentions bachelors on Duck Creek forming a matrimonial club amid talk of strong town growth and schooling needs.
