Miner Killed by Boulder at Windarmere Mine

Joseph Metts a miner at the Silver Thread mine owned by Fraser Chalmers Syndicate was instantly killed when a boulder from the mountain side struck him at the mouth of the tunnel. Owen Jackson, a Windermere prospector, witnessed part of the accident and had just returned to Spokane weeks earlier.

Peace River Gold Find Reported By Brantford Mining Party

Edmonton brokers Messrs J P Robb and E P Spaulding of Brantford Mining Co return from Peace River with quartz prospecting outfit. They reached Peace River March 1 and May 22 freighted by double teams. They describe rich free milling quartz samples and a large low grade body.
