Prospecting update from Golden outfitters and riders

Don ald W. Evans traveled from Hdiwnonton with four riders and 20 pack horses to Golden to outfit and return. Water was too high for prospecting, no new gold news. Evans met Archdeacon Mac kay and Frank Fulton, learned of potential prospects, and observed a bridge being built over Wood River. He noted quartz shows after further prospecting by Prica and Evans near the Golan outfits on the Cando River, about 60 miles south of the Cache, on June 21st.

Tragedy at Tete Jaune Cache Chronology of Fatal Shooting

In the Tete Jaune Cache region two trappers A Macaulay a quarterbreed from Prince Albert aged 29 and J Hughes a 50s resident of Kansas quarreled over season skins. Hughes shot Macaulay on June 12 injuring him badly with a 46-00 rifle. Macaulay survived nine days before authorities moved to charge Hughes who was remanded for trial.
