Curling enthusiasm grows as scrimmages begin and young players train under veteran guidance. The Golden Curling Club seeks steady curlers under president C A Warren. Competitions start early next week with committees arranging events. Church services are set for tomorrow with St Pauls at 7 30 Presbyterian Rev T B Glassford and Methodist service at 7 40 tomorrow evening in the school house.

Accident at Langdon Leaves Operator Crippled in Calgary

Miss Pennock, operator at Langdon, fell from a freight train in snow and was badly injured. She was brought to Calgary and rushed to hospital where Dr Mackid performed an amputation on one leg. The operation left her in critical condition as she remained brave throughout.

La Cigale Comedy Troupe Performs in Golden

The La Cigale Comedy Company from West Kootenay and coastal cities returned from the west last week to present the three act farce Three Hats at Alexander Hall on Saturday night. Despite their second local appearance, they were warmly received with strong applause and the evening ended with a social dance before midnight. The troupe has won many friends here and can expect a warm welcome on future visits to Golden.
