Ward's River Red Cross Dance Draws Big Crowd
A Ward's River Red Cross branch novelty dance on Saturday August 29 attracted a large crowd from far and near. M.C Len Monro of Gloucester led the merriment with the O.K. Orchestra. prizes included a fat bullock sold for £15 and other items. Winners included Mrs and Mrs Jack Ebbeck Jnr for the Waltz, with crowd-pleasing yodels by Mrs Holland Craven. The night raised funds and concluded with God Save The King, followed by a piano for sale advert.
