Sydney to Taree Road Conditions and Ferry at Tinonee
An NRMA inspector reports road quality from Sydney to Taree via Dungog. Paved surface extends 14 miles beyond Raymond Terrace, with corrugated gravel to Booral and fair to Stroud. Dungog gravel continues with winding sections, then tail metal to Weismantel’s. Beyond this, gravel is corrugated for eight miles, then fair overall except in Gloucester. Between Gloucester and Krambach the road is fair, then seven miles of worn and corrugated surface to Tinonee, where a four car ferry operates but may be unavailable for weeks. North of the ferry two miles of worn gravel followed by two miles of good pavement to Taree.
