National Insurance voluntary contributors conditions

The National Insurance Commission outlines eligibility for voluntary contribution. Persons not married women may join if under age limits, have at least 104 weeks insured since last entry, have ceased employment or given notice, and have paid required contributions. Women over 60 or men over 65 are generally not due to become voluntary contributors, though rights to old age pension may exist under specific acts. Contributions are paid entirely by the contributor, and those with income above thresholds may lose medical benefits. Widow rules, special provisions for marriage, and bonuses or overtime affecting earnings are addressed.
