The Graziers Conference criticized the Australian Meat Board as not protecting producers interests and leaving New South Wales graziers voiceless. They urged a chair from primary producers and urged a New Zealand–style export body with long term meat quotas and beef and lamb coverage. Speakers compared NSW lamb to Canterbury meat, noting differences in fat and quality.
