Gloucester forms First Scout Group Committee
At the State Ball district leaders and supporters gathered to revive the Boy Scout movement in Gloucester. Councillor A J White presided while speakers outlined aims, duties, and the need for a committed group including a Scoutmaster, meeting places, and fundraising.
Scout Group Elects Officers and Adopts Constitution
Mr Anderson stated the committee may inquire from headquarters. Old balances are held in trust by the Scout Association in Sydney. The constitution was adopted with Messrs Newton and Parish moving. Officers include Patron Shire President Dr A J White President Dr F V Munro Vice Presidents Rev H W Rogers Rev B C Pereira Sergeant Bolton Trustees to be appointed Membership set at 2/ per year starting July. Next meeting Thursday at 8 pm.

Burial of a Monk at St Bernard Monastery
Father Malachy Dunne, a monk who died at the Monastery of St Bernard in Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire, was buried at the abbey cloisters after 33 years of residence. Seventy monks attended the funeral and the Cistercian rites were observed with no mourning, flowers, or coffin. The body was clothed in white habit and boots as monks lowered it into the grave and filled it with earth.
