The Jew-boys Romance and a Dead Bride of Port Macquarie
The tale follows Edward Davis, a convict turned bushranger known as the Jew-boy, who loves Ellen Evans, daughter of timber cutter Evans. After a tragic pursuit by police and his rivals, Ellen dies of a broken heart, and the Jew-boy, returning to the scene, discards a ruby heart onto her coffin as he flees into the night.
