In Gloucester Monday before P M Grugeon, H J Channel sues Francis Boland for assault on May 29, while Boland sues Channel for insulting words. Witnesses describe a street confrontation near Channel’s shop with blows, threats, and a disputed use of language as spectators recall a tense exchange and a subsequent scuffle. Channel is told the assault was unjustified. Boland counters with verbal and physical defense. The court convicts Boland of assault, fines him, and awards costs. multiple witnesses recount the incident and prior behavior in relation to the recreation club and riotous conduct charges.
