Engineers Fight for Culvert and Road Safety Measures
The council discussed upgrades to the Upper Avon Road area including two dangerous culverts and ordered an engineer to inspect. A grant allowed the engineer to attend the UK Association’s annual conference in Sydney March 21–21. Other items included renewal of a railway water supply agreement, delivery updates on a motor grader, repairs to Manchester Never Never Read, and sanitation fee decisions for 1960. The Shire planned street events, band permissions, and set general rates and garbage charges.
