Dairy prospects warn of scarce feed amid dry spell
Mr E Dalgleish over the middle river district notes January rain was insufficient, followed by heat that dried ground and burned pastures. Fodder crops suffer though lucerne stays fed. He warns prospects are not promising and winter stock and feed may be short without timely rains. In Hunter valley Mr H P Chapman calls for a good soaking rain to halt pasture decline and lift cream supplies.
