Drowning Near Forster Claims Young Man Roy Johnson
A 22 year old named Roy Johnson drowned near Forster while rock fishing with three companions. He attempted to hop between rocks at Cape Hawke Head when a large sea washed him onto a rocky ledge and knocked him unconscious. Despite searches by Constables Barnett and Konza, Johnson disappeared, with his hat later found. Johnson, a Karuah resident, had come to Forster to help, and the town expressed deep sympathy for his family.
