Homer Wilson Smith born October 14, 1874 near Hastings died recently after a long illness. He married Phoebe Douglas of Emerson on September 27, 1899 and farmed near Hastings before moving to Emerson about seven years ago. Survived by wife Phoebe, six children Glen Richard Louise Marion Mary Minn ing, two grandchildren Lucile and Leonard, two sisters Minnie Crouse Susie Hall, and brother Edge Smith. He joined the Baptist church years ago and endured a past operation with temporary relief.
