Glenwood high school dominated Oakland in the opening football game scoring four touchdowns in the fourth quarter and a 40 yard pass to Standiford. Oakland fought but was outplayed throughout. The team travels Friday to Creighton high in Omaha and later plays Shenandoah on Oct 14 with season tickets honored for changes.

Mrs C C Ward planted three short rows of sweet potatoes last spring and recently harvested an extraordinary yield of seventeen bushels. Athlete inmate escapes Glenwood facility in repeat incident
Mrs. Louis Ferdy, 21, an inmate at the Institution for Feeble Minded in Glenwood, escaped for the fourth time this year. She rode an eastbound freight to Creston where Sheriff Collings seized her and arranged transfer back to Glenwood with Dr. Lacy. The physician joked that Ferdy would outrun him if she tried to escape again.

Walling Family Involved In Serious Auto Crash
A Sunday collision near a road crossing between a Walling car from this city and a Davis vehicle from Sidney left Mrs Walling with a broken limb and Mr Walling with a broken thumb. Robert and a Davis niece sustained injuries. Mrs Davis was in critical condition and a Davis niece was severely cut and unconscious. The Wallings had driven their daughter Mabel home from town when the crash occurred. Mrs Walling was rushed to Glenwood and Robert to Tabor for treatment.

Good program booked at Crystal Theater
The Crystal theater in Glenwood opened last Thursday with a crowded first show. Delays occurred as two projection machines failed to operate until late by electricians from Omaha. The issues are now corrected and projection acclaimed as best in southwest Iowa. Manager Young has two more strong programs booked ahead.
