Glenwood Chautauqua Ends, Farmers Picnic Nears

The 1910 Glenwood chautauqua was paid for in full and more. Farmers can plow now as corn nears ripening. Blue Grass road from Council Bluffs through Glenwood to Burlington is in good shape. The Farmers picnic at the county farm is Sept 28. Inquire of Dr Magride or Judson, or John Cooper of Madison township. Fremont county man turns 90 on Oct 18, wife 84. they married 60 years. Cooper fattens a large turkey for his birthday.

Degree of Honor Lodge Meeting Set for Monday Evening

Degree of Honor Lodge will meet in their rooms this Monday evening with an important meeting. It is hoped all members will be present.

Court Friday Postpones Session and Grand Jury Date

Judge Wheeler ordered court postponed to Friday this week with the grand jury convening then while the petit jury remains set for Monday. Mayor Bogart named a committee to study a dirt road route known as the Blue Grass road, linking Council Bluffs Glenwood and Burlington toward Red Oak, with a report due to Mr. Long of the Osceola Sentinel. Mrs Diep Barnes Dies After Long Illness In Weston Iowa

Jane Barnes aged about sixty six years died Saturday at 11 am at Paul Draper's home near Weston Iowa after years of dropsy. A Lincolnshire native who moved to the U S over 45 years ago she was among Pottawattamie County's oldest settlers and leaves no relatives in the county. She had lived with John Marrin for ten years and recently visited friends before worsening and passing away. Funeral services were held at Paul Draper's residence Sunday afternoon with Rev Jones of Council Bluffs Episcopal church officiating and burial in Hazel Dell cemetery near Weston.
