Pvt David E. Kemp age 19 from Glenwood Iowa serves with the Eighth Army at Camp Schimmelpfenniz Sendai Japan. He is promoted to Private First Class before attending an eight week Eta Jima Mess Stewards school and later transfers within the 13th Engineers. Kemp is the son of Mr and Mrs David E Kemp of Glenwood. He farmed at home and graduated Glenwood High School in 1948.
