A Chicago wedding yesterday united Ed Heinsheimer and Miss Rose Kahn with many in attendance including Albert Heinsheimer. The couple plans a wedding trip east, and friends extend best wishes for a happy married life. A quiet October 31 ceremony joined Vern Doyle and Karl C. Ling, Ling described as a diligent Mills County teacher. A small evening gathering toasted the couple with ice cream and cake, then departed, noting nothing missing the next morning. Guests listed include John Mills and Edith Spake of Silver City, Mathew J. Shaffer of Norfolk, Angie Wilkinson of Rawles Township, J O Hathaway of Hastings, Alta P. Bishop of Hastings, Grover Mayberry of Glenwood, Laura Shannon of Henton, CG W Abshire of PacJet, and Jennie Russell of PacJet.
A brief item notes John Hopp receives a new sildie horse from South Omaha. It mentions DeWitt's Kidney and Bladder Pills acting on kidneys and liver for quick relief from excruciating urination, sold by A. J. Howe. Eyewear services offered at Laraways with lenses ground to fit.
At a weekly meeting Glenwood officials reviewed the bill for two new bridges over Keg creek ditch. The board argued one fifth of the bridge width is a sidewalk and proposed city payment of one fifth. Glenwood's charter requires a three mill tax for city use, and county bridge funds cannot be used inside the city. Years of county bridge tax collection in Glenwood suggest a balance must be resolved to reach fair adjustment.
Mr. A. M. Downing of Messenger Paper Co. says Keokuk hosted Iowa’s largest ballot this year while Mills county voters faced an even bigger ballot. He notes paper demand soars, mills stripped of book paper, and after paper trust dissolution prices rose sharply. He hints at centralized control of independents and possible publisher penalties to favor trusts.

Smith received 1918 votes out of 1962 while no Democratic challenger stood. The election table omitted the Surveyors figures due to crowding. printer notes Mr. Smith was not running and that he simply took his time and walked. Prohibition candidate Kelly was nominated on the ticket.
County board adjourned the regular November session to reconvene February 2. Corrections to local returns increased Creech’s plurality to 21 and Brandt’s to 67 after fixes in Hastings and Lyons, while state ticket totals were forwarded to the Des Moines auditor. Also noted were legal fees, property changes, a Des Moines travel report of campaign spending, land sales ads, and local meeting notices.
Clerk of courts Mr Gourly releases the bar docket for the November term listing 89 cases with 9 criminal ones. Court opens next Tuesday morning with Judge Macy presiding. Names from Glenwood Malvern Pacific Junction and other towns include W E McCoy J M Anthony Charles Peer Charles Munsinger W A Morgan Thomas Dunn and many more.
A fragment from the Grenwood post office lists remaining uncalled letters for the week ending Nov 14 1906. Names include Mrs. Lizzie Lane and Mrs. Zelma Greenfield with Miss Mayme Howard. Addressees should state they have been advertised. Also notes DeWitt's Little Early Risers pills sold by A J Howe.
An odd classified note offers wood at no charge, claims to provide all apple trees desired, and advertises perfumes, toilet articles, pianos, organs, and a cold air blast stove for sale. It also asks for the return of a lost pair of glasses found between the high school and Fallon hill, to Mrs J A Blair.
S H Peters advertises Grimes Golden apples for sale by the bushel. The notice specifies available quantity and contact likely for ordering. Local readers are invited to purchase fresh fruit directly.
A pocket book disappeared last Monday between Fallon Hill and Glenwood Square. Finder should return it to Mrs. Chas. Tipton.

Also reads classifieds for pianos at Laraways, millinery by Mrs Martha Myers, postcards and Glenwood views at Robinsons, blacksmith J O Crouch near Binkley livery, wagon shop, Stillwagon millinery and hair goods, and a recruitment pitch from Arcade Mfg Co Pekin Ill offering income with premi ums.
