Local residents hosted and traveled to see relatives across states and regions. Mrs Malvin Durkee and daughter Darla Melle of Rock Island visited H B Wilcox's Glenwood home with Durkee family, and Gerald Bryan and son Jerry Bob of Corydon Iowa spent the weekend in Glenwood. The Ridenours traveled to St. Joe Missouri for Father's Day. Other guests included Johnny Ridenour and daughter of St. Joe. Paul Cheyney left for two weeks in Eugene Oregon. Roy Snider and Clair Dunell visited the Aligns in Glasgow Missouri while Snider recalls directing Glenwood bands in 1940. Judy Walters and Garlyn Davey vacationing with Judy’s aunt and uncle Albert and Mer t Crouch in Glenwood. John Thomas of Omaha called on Glenwood Saturday evening. Ester Stivers and daughters Lynn Rae and Nancy Jane of Gate City California visited the Al lens in Glenwood. the Stivers planned a Detroit trip to purchase a new car. Met E L Hiatt and children Gene and Charlene visited Mason City Iowa to see Mr and Mrs Stanley Davis, while T S LeRoy Berges of Ft Madison Iowa visited Miss Mary Janet Maxwell. Berges serves in the United States Marines.

Dorothy and Doris Durkee spent time with their Rock Island brother and wife. Woodbine visitors included W O Green. Frankie Carle fans gathered in Omaha Friday evening. Mrs A Feldt hosted luncheon and bridge with Council Bluffs guests. Rex Wilson and Jim Riegel planned to leave for Omaha for navy exams then head to San Francisco for camp.
