An Old Offender Aided by County Jail and Extradition

Sioux City report recounts James Hoffman alias John Hoffman alias John Cook tracked to Glenwood Nebraska on a schoolhouse burglary charge. He is sought on horse stealing in Woodbury County and is said to have traded the horse for a pony and $35 after stealing Bert Burns horse near Hornick. Hoffman escaped Dakota County jail Christmas morning during extradition formalities, and his wife Mary Woodward is jailed at Glenwood. He has a long record including a 1911 chicken theft and a 1913 Onawa marriage, with multiple aliases and a Fort Madison expectation.
