In district court Judge Green convened court Tuesday morning. The grand jury elected Hon. Chas. W. Black foreman and Wm. Harrison as bailiff with a roster including Malvern Charles Peer Strahan J.B. Taylor F. G. Deitchler Mineola J.C. Stone Pacific Junction Wm. E. McCoy Glenwood John L. Merritt. The case of Wm. R. Webb vs C. B. & Q. Ry settled for 3000 paid by the railroad to the plaintiff, Webb’s estate seeking 15000 after Webb was killed by a fall from the bridge known as the Plattsmouth bridge case. Judge Green denied the railroad’s motion for a change of venue amid claims of undue influence by the estate’s attorneys.
