Guardsmen Decline Immediate Activation At Fort Leonard Wood

Guardsmen from Glenwood and other units began a two week training at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri in driving rain. Governor Val Peterson of Nebraska and Governor Beardsley of Iowa were slated to attend Governor's Day. Maj. Gen. Ray C. Fountain said the 34th Division is not among guard units called up, and its commanding officer did not expect orders but kept silent on possible changes overnight.

Little World Series Set For Omaha September 4 7

Omaha plans the second straight Little World Series at Municipal Stadium September 4 7 with Post No 1 sponsors hoping for a larger turnout after last year’s record attendance of 45727. Officials named Morris E Jacob as general chairman with Dan Grose and Peter Marchett as vice chairs and Bert Murphy leading the Civic Committee. Tickets go on sale at Russell Sporting Goods with out of town fans urged to use the Labor Day opener as a travel buffer.

Perkins Sievers Nuptials In Baptist Church Ceremony

Community club elects 1950 officers at closing meeting
