Forest study planned for Nebraska plains timber hopes
Washington April 9 the division of forestry of the United States department of agriculture will study tree growth in Nebraska this summer to see if large scale forest production is possible. The route covers Platte valley from Plattsmouth to Kearney and the western half of the state from Kearney to Crawford. The mission aims to map species distribution and test planting methods, noting failures and successes to guide future reclamation of waste lands. Cooperation from local residents is sought to aid the survey.
