Souris Valley to 76.7 mills. Beautiful Plains to 102.5 mills. Brandon to 63.3 mills. Local rate add ons include Glenboro Rink 2.0 mills and Cypress River Hall 1.5 mills. Residents may review the 1982 Tax Levy By-law at the Glenboro Municipal Office.
After a May 13 demonstration the Glenboro South Cypress Volunteer Fire Department voted to buy Jaws of Life rescue gear. The $12 449 cost requires two thirds funding with a June 15 deadline. donations are invited through fire department members or Don Foster at the Village Office.
A Jaws of Life equipment demo drew onlookers at the Fire Hall in Glenboro on Thursday May 13. A company representative and Glenboro South Cypress Volunteer Fire Dept members demonstrated rescuers widening a door window and cutting a roof post to reach an accident victim trapped in a car.
The Glenboro Community Promotion Committee and the Steering Committee formed in 1981 to halt decline and attract residents, businesses, and visitors. They seek grants of 3,250 dollars, plan multi media promotion, crossroad gateway advertising, and welcome public input at P O Box 506 Glenboro Manitoba.
Glenboro Health District held its annual meeting at the Legion Hall on May 13 with about forty attendees. Plans and a model for a new Personal Care Home and renovations to the present Hospital were shown, with construction due to start this summer and a year to complete, opening early next fall.
The Glenboro Health Auxiliary celebrates 35 years of volunteer work with about 1,000 hours donated since last October. Members met five times in the year, organized fundraisers, supported the Glenboro Hospital and Personal Care Home with equipment, gifts, and services, and honoured Candy Stripe program graduates each May.
Front door lock at J. & L. Lumber on Broadway Street in Glenboro was broken during the night of May 17 in what appears to be a break in attempt. No further break ins or damage has been reported.
