Weather Views shows a week of extreme cold from January 11 to 17 with a high of minus four on January 14 and a low of minus thirty five on January 17. Average daytime minus eighteen and nighttime minus thirty two, overall minus twenty five, with 4.5 cm precipitation and temperatures nine below average.
The Glenboro and District Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting on Monday January 18 at the Glenboro Legion Hall with about fifty in attendance. Frank Presunka presented slides from Centennial week 1980 after guest speaker Joanne Sigurdson could not attend. President Steve Bjornson outlined last year’s activities and camel project debts while officers for 1982 were elected including Donna Arnson as president and Karl Lurber as vice president. meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday each month at 7 30 a m at the Spruce Woods Inn.
Glenboro Collegiate Drama Club presented The Diligent Daughter and Seven Wives for Dracula on January 13 and 14. Mrs Liz Bronson directed with assistants Claire Fraser and Helen Levi. The cast featured Jackie Smith Naomi Nice and Nellie Joyal with Denis Hutler Kent Hamilton Keith Harpelle Betty Hamilton Brian Barton Cecile Cummings Marion McQuiston Trent Rolfe Ian Witherspoon and others. The performances received enthusiastic audience reactions and the production was praised as a credit to the club.
