Sir Thos White sends thanks to Mr Duncan and the Victory Loan Committee for their patriotic zeal and notable success in the campaign. Miss Jean Hopkins returned home for Xmas vacation. Miss Stephenson visited her uncle Mr Dave Thompson. Acknowledged with thanks for the Military MCA five dollars from G Otto. Will and Mrs Dewart spent Xmas at Lone Oak Farm. A fine rink and toboggan slide on the river at Hopkins farm is noted. Pte Geo Slack landed at St John s NB. Christina Thomson arrived home for a short vacation. J K Thomson visited J McCutcheon in Glenboro. Prs George Meredith and bride expected to return from England soon. Ed Dewart is home on two weeks vacation and eluded the health constable. St Johns Sunday School held a Xmas party at The Roost. A jolly time on the Stockton rink Xmas Day. Skaters included Mc Lachlan Field Jackson Moon Matthews and families.

Soldier Reunites With Sister After War Service

Pte. August Einarson arrived in town on Monday to spend Christmas with his sister Mrs. C. A. Oleson. He landed at Halifax on the 14th aboard the Olympic from England. Einarson volunteered early in the war and has spent most of the conflict overseas.
