Glen Rose High School Tiger Band directed by Harold Parnell competed in Brady at the Region VII UIL marching contest in Bull dog Stadium. About 2,500 band students from 35 schools attended. Mrs. O. F. Boyd died in a Midland rest home at age 89 and was buried at Stiles Cemetery after services at First Methodist Church in Big Lake. She and her late husband lived in Big Lake before moving to San Angelo in 1965. he died two years later. Survivors include son Billy and daughter Mrs. Otis Basham, both of Big Lake.
