Buck Deer Strikes Hunter During Georges Creek Hunt
Jake Dingler of Georges Creek neighborhood shot a 9 point buck on Saturday. He moved to gut the deer, the animal sprang up and struck his mouth with an antler cutting his lips. Dingler did not recover the trophy that day but later found the spoiled meat and recovered the antler rack.

Walnut Springs Man Jailed At Meridian
James Allen Chappell of Walnut Springs was arrested about 10 p.m. Sunday and charged with carrying a concealed weapon by Highway Patrolman Dewey Watson. He was jailed at Meridian. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Mrs Currie Hurt In Auto Mishap On Highway 67
Mrs. Lee Currie of this community sustained minor injuries when her 1970 Plymouth collided with a 1963 Chevrolet pickup driven by Don Smith on Highway 67 in front of Jerry's Grocery & Station Thursday evening. Currie was hospitalized overnight. Smith unharmed. Sheriff Frank Laramore investigated. vehicle damages were $350 for the Plymouth and $275 for the pickup.

Granbury Man Hurt In Head On Wreck
Granbury resident John D. Marbut sustained head injuries when his 1971 Ford collided head on with a 1969 Chevrolet Foremost Milk truck on Highway 144 about four miles north of Granbury. C N Wade of Hico drove the truck and the accident occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday. Marbut was taken to the local hospital and his condition was reported improved. Wade suffered a possible whiplash injury but was not hospitalized. Patrolman Dewey Watson investigated and Marbut was ticketed for driving on the wrong side of the road.
