Planning Commission Hires Engineering Firm
The Somervell County Planning Commission of M. G. McConal Jim Turner and Jack McCarty signed with Albritton & Associates Dallas for a 20 year water sewerage and growth plan plus studies of recreation highways parks and municipal projects. The study will include flood control in the Paluxy River watershed funded by a $5000 federal grant through the Farmers Home Administration.

Homecoming Plans Set for Glen Rose Next Week
A full schedule for Glen Rose School homecoming on November 11 and 12 includes a bonfire and pep rally at Big Rocks on November 11 at 6 30 p m followed by a band concert and honor guest presentation in the school auditorium. The Senior Class will serve barbecue at 5 30 p m Saturday at the football field before the 7 30 game between the Glen Rose Tigers and Meridian.

Funeral services for Mrs. J W Ballard are set for 2 p.m. today at Glen Rose Funeral Home Chapel with Elder A D Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Johnsville Cemetery. Born Thelma Riggs near Stephenville on Oct 13 1903 she died Nov 2 after a long illness. Survivors include husband Arvil Ballard of Glen Rose a son two brothers G E Riggs of Fort Worth Ortha Riggs of Arlington and two grandchildren.
