Glen Rose Couple Tie Formal Knot at Home Wedding

Miss Irene Martin and Jack Buzan of Glen Rose wed Monday night at 8:30 in Justice of the Peace G W Dye’s home. The couple, attended only by themselves, plan to remain in Glen Rose where Buzan works at Harry's Place. Both are Somervell County natives and attended the local high school.

Citizens Military Training Camps Suspended

The War Department has closed the Citizens' Military Training Camps for an indefinit e period. The move follows Selective Service planning to draft all men aged 21 to 35, requiring officers as instructors in army camps who previously staffed CMTC. Mr and Mrs H C Polley of Colorado City visited relatives here.

Draft lottery sets five million young Americans in line

In a Washington drawing lasting 17 hours 31 minutes the final number 7839, the 9002nd, was drawn as the basis for calling 5 million potential draftees. Dr. Clarence Dykstra said the process shows an orderly peacetime army, with Somervell County's allotment capped at two men and 30,000 to be drafted nationwide in the first call.

Boy Scouts Court Of Honor Sunday At Local Church

At three o'clock next Sunday afternoon the Glen Rose and Granbury Boy Scouts will hold Court of Honor at the Methodist Church. Badges will be awarded to Scouts who completed tender foot and second class requirements. A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend.
