Kenneth Wayne Livingston a 15 year old eighth grade student died from a gunshot wound to the heart about 5 p m Tuesday. The shooting occurred at his grandparents home Mr and Mrs J D Garner. He died on arrival at the local hospital. Justice of the Peace Ricky West ruled the death a personal safety related gunshot wound. Boyd Reynolds Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

Weather: Rain Returns with Heavy Local and County Impacts
Rain returned this week with 1.85 inches on the official gauge near town and heavier totals over 3.50 inches in parts of the county. Runoff flooded streams and the Paluxy River ran bankfull, with county roads sustaining some damage. Mack reports 90 degrees Monday and monthly moisture at 2.22 inches, year to date 17.12 inches.

Three area traffic incidents reported with minor injuries in one. On Thursday near Pecan and Barnard Streets a 1965 Chevrolet pickup backed into a 1976 Chevrolet, police cited William S. Adams for backing without safety. Saturday a borrowed 1973 Pontiac backed into a 1975 Ford. James O. Crouch jailed on traffic warrant. Sunday at Highway 67 and FM 200 in Rainbow, Dwight M. Freeland collided with Bernice T. McNeill. Freeland ticketed for failure to yield right of way.

Glenview Church to Break Ground for New Addition
Members of the Glenview Church of Christ plan a 28 by 40 foot addition with four extra classrooms and a minister's study. Raymond Stewart will turn the first sod, Wayne Lowe will give the dedication prayer, and a gospel singing session featuring groups from Fort Worth Cleburne Wylie and nearby towns will follow. Work starts soon with completion before August Vacation Bible School.

Local Youth Baseball Try Outs Announced for Summer Program
Optimist Club announces Saturday try outs at the school field for Little League girls and Pony League at 8 30 a m and boys divisions at 10 30 a m. The summer program runs from Monday May 30 to mid July with All Star teams chosen by managers. It is free thanks to sponsors and the school board allows facility use. Youth aged 9 to 15 in the county are welcome.
