Larry Witt, 15, son of Mr and Mrs Lawerence Witt of Glen Rose, captured the grand champion fat steer title with Polk at the Fifth Annual Jr Livestock Show. He earned 15 dollars top prize after raising and grooming Polk as an FFA project while keeping high academic marks and talents in music and science. The show drew 157 livestock and 115 poultry entries with 275 dollars awarded to 4 H and FFA exhibitors. Judges included Clyde Wells, A D Weeks, Thomas Holmes, and Kieth Hillman.

Free science films at 10 a m, a science fiction film It Came From Outer Space at 1 p m with 10 cent admission. Top ten entries advance to Baylor Science Fair April 7–8 in Waco.
